Amazon is reportedly in discussions to acquire Decart, an Israeli AI startup, for around USD 7 billion. That would be a sharp jump from Decart’s valuation of nearly USD 4 billion in May 2026.

Reports also link Nvidia, SpaceX and Nebius to the same process. Anthropic has been described as the frontrunner in some accounts. It is trading drafts of an agreement that would mostly be paid in its own shares. None of the talks has been confirmed by the companies involved.

Why Amazon Wants Decart

Decart builds software that helps AI applications run across different chip platforms. It also develops models that generate and simulate real-world 3D environments.

Those two capabilities map directly onto Amazon’s cloud business. Amazon has been pushing its own AI accelerator, Trainium3. Getting developers to move workloads onto it is the hard part.

Porting models between chip architectures usually means rewriting code and retesting performance. If Decart’s compatibility layer works at scale, it could lower that barrier. Trainium would then be a more practical default for developers already inside AWS.

Decart’s Funding Run: USD 21 Million To USD 4 Billion

Decart came out of stealth with a USD 21 million seed round led by Sequoia. It released Oasis, which it described as the first real-time interactive open-world model.

Benchmark then led a USD 32 million Series A in December 2024 at a valuation above USD 500 million. The company followed that with LSD, a live-stream diffusion model for sub-100 millisecond video-to-video generation.

In August 2025, Decart raised USD 100 million at a USD 3.1 billion valuation. A USD 300 million round led by Radical Ventures followed, taking total funding past USD 450 million.

Its product lines are DOS, an inference and training stack, along with two world models called Lucy and Oasis. Lucy targets immersive experiences, while Oasis is aimed at physical AI and robotics.

The Wider Race For Decart

The reported interest is not limited to one buyer. Nvidia, Amazon, SpaceX and Nebius have all been named, and Anthropic was reported as an early suitor.

Founders and Sequoia are said to favour Anthropic despite a higher reported offer from Nvidia. Google has also been floated as a possible alternative.

Reports suggest a deal could value Decart between USD 6 billion and USD 7 billion. That range is roughly 50% to 75% above the USD 4 billion mark the company reached only three months earlier.

What The Deal Would Mean For Trainium

For Amazon, the logic is less about owning a model and more about owning the migration path. Decart’s tooling would sit between customer code and Amazon’s silicon.

That is the same playbook hyperscalers have run before. Buy the layer that makes your hardware easier to use, then let the workload volume follow.

Nothing is final. Acquisition talks at this stage can stall on price, structure or regulatory review. The reported interest from four other buyers means Decart still has options.
