Mumbai-based fintech startup Trackk has raised ₹30 crore in an extended seed funding round as it looks to grow its presence in India’s retail investing market. The funding shows strong investor interest in platforms that are designed for young and first-time investors.

The funding round was led by Lightspeed India, which invested ₹23.66 crore and became Trackk’s biggest external shareholder with nearly 20% stake in the company. Info Edge Ventures also joined the round by investing ₹6.37 crore for around 5.38% stake.

Trackk raised the money by issuing 1,23,630 compulsory convertible preference shares at ₹2,429 per share. After the funding round, the company’s valuation reached around ₹118 crore.

Founders Continue to Lead the Company

Trackk was started in October 2021 by three college dropouts — Vedant Gupte, Siddharth Thakkar, and Aryan Jain. The startup first operated under the name “Tradebook” before changing its brand name to Trackk.

After the latest investment, the founders’ combined stake dropped from 60.54% to 45.17%. Angel investors now hold around 17.15% stake, while the ESOP pool holds 8.5%. Even after the dilution, the founders still own shares worth nearly ₹53.4 crore. The company operates under Tradebook Consultancy Services Private Limited and is based in Chembur, Mumbai. At present, Trackk has a team of 39 employees.

Platform Built for Young Investors

Trackk mainly focuses on Gen Z users and young investors between 18 and 30 years old. The company wants to make stock market investing simpler for people who feel traditional trading apps are too confusing. The app has already crossed 1 lakh downloads on the Google Play Store and holds a 4.7-star rating. On Apple’s App Store, it has a 4.6-star rating.

One of its main features is “Trackk Nest,” an AI-powered stock screener that allows users to search for stocks using simple English questions instead of technical filters. For example, users can type queries like “stocks with promoter holding above 50%” to get stock suggestions.

The platform also offers personalised portfolio recommendations based on user preferences and risk level. Another feature gives simple IPO recommendations such as “Apply,” “Avoid,” or “Neutral” for upcoming IPOs. Trackk also studies user trading behaviour and alerts them about habits like panic selling or overtrading to help users become better investors over time.

SEBI Licence Boosts Trackk’s Growth Plans

A big achievement for the startup came recently when it received a direct brokerage licence from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). This licence allows Trackk to work as a retail discount broker on both NSE and BSE. Before getting the licence, the company worked as a sub-broker for nearly three years. During that period, it built a user base of over 1.5 lakh registered users and handled more than 6,000 trades every day.

Trackk recently opened around 30,000 new trading accounts, and nearly 85% of them belong to first-time investors. This shows that more young Indians are entering the stock market through digital investment platforms. However, some of the platform’s live trading and Demat account features are still marked as “Coming Soon” on its app listing and FAQ section.

The founders have also avoided adding too many gaming-style features to the app because they believe it can create unrealistic expectations among beginner traders and may attract regulatory concerns.

Company Plans More Expansion Ahead

Trackk plans to use the fresh funding for technology upgrades, marketing, hiring new employees, working capital, and other business needs. The startup is also reportedly in talks to raise another $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Z47.

Earlier, the startup had raised $100,000 from Maahavir Ventures in a pre-seed round and later secured $1 million in seed funding in 2025 from investors including GSF Ventures and Paras Defence.

Trackk reported operating revenue of ₹11 lakh and a net loss of ₹72 lakh in FY25, as the company was still in its early growth stage. The startup now plans to focus heavily on Tier I and Tier II cities and aims to become one of India’s top 20 trading platforms in the next two years by competing with companies like Groww and Zerodha.
