TailBlaze Longevity, an Ahmedabad-based pet nutrition startup, has raised USD 300,000 in a pre-seed round led by US venture capital firm Comma Capital. The company plans to spend the money on launching its new wet dog food range, hiring, and reaching more pet parents across India.
The startup was founded in August 2025 by Manaal Maniyar and Palak Devpura. It works on a single claim: that the right nutrition can help dogs live three to five years longer. Its formulations lean on higher protein and lower carbohydrate content than mainstream dog food.
What the company makes
Its first major launch is HeartPour, a wet dog food range that came out of four years of research and development. The recipe combines high-protein ingredients and superfoods with an Ayurvedic PanchTatva blend of curcumin, black pepper, parsley, amla and tulsi.

TailBlaze has also built FreshTail, a proprietary technology for producing shelf-stable fresh meals. Its catalogue already runs past 200 products, covering organic dog food, natural treats, grooming products and pet accessories. The treats line uses ingredients such as coconut, hemp, fish and strawberry.

Ahead of the commercial rollout, the company plans to give complimentary servings of HeartPour to the first 500 dogs. It will also strengthen its team in Ahmedabad, where the business is based.
How it sells
TailBlaze runs a WhatsApp-first commerce model, which is unusual for a pet food brand. It also sells through quick commerce platforms and online marketplaces including Blinkit and BBNow.
The WhatsApp route gives the company a direct line to pet parents for repeat orders and feeding advice, while the marketplaces handle discovery. For a young brand competing with established pet food labels on shelf, that combination works as a way to build a customer base. It does so without heavy retail spending.
The startup was recently featured on Bharat Ke Superfounders, which put it in front of a wider audience of Indian founders and investors.
Why pet nutrition is drawing money
Investor interest in India’s pet nutrition sector has picked up over the past year, mostly around science-backed and functional products. Right4Paws raised Rs 14 crore in a Series A round in December 2025. Benny’s Bowl raised USD 1.4 million in February 2026 for functional pet foods, and Zoomies Pet Care raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed round in March.
Larger platforms are expanding too. Supertails has raised USD 30 million in Series C funding and is moving into technology-enabled services, personalised pet care and healthcare.
TailBlaze is entering that market with a longevity pitch rather than a general nutrition one. Whether pet parents buy the three-to-five-year claim will decide how quickly the USD 300,000 converts into distribution.
