Reliance Industries will invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh. The funds will go into compressed biogas (CBG) plants. Reliance executive director Anant M. Ambani announced the investment on 2 October 2026. The projects are expected to create more than 3 lakh jobs, the company said. They could also bring nearly Rs 60,000 crore in revenue to the state over the coming decades.
Investment plans
Ambani made the announcement in Madanapalle. He spoke at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture. Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was present, the company said.

“Reliance Industries is grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the opportunity to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in the state to set up compressed biogas (CBG) plants,” Ambani said.
Reliance (ril.com) said CBG is produced from farm waste and animal dung. Under the proposed model, farmers could supply feedstock for the plants and use cleaner fuel, linking the investment with the state’s agricultural economy, the company said.
Clean energy and large-ticket manufacturing have driven this week’s news flow. Simple Energy’s Rs 1,750 crore round and Prodoc AI’s seed round are two examples.
Farmers and clean energy
Ambani said the green energy business could help “our Anna Daatas become Urja Daatas”. It is a reference to farmers turning into energy producers. He said his mission is to make farmers more prosperous, energy cleaner and care for animals stronger.
The company said its CBG plans are intended to bring farmers into the clean-energy value chain as suppliers as well as fuel users. The job and revenue estimates relate to the projects over the coming decades, Reliance said.
Training partnership
At the Madanapalle event, Reliance also outlined its partnership with the proposed Indian School of Agriculture. The company will take agricultural training to farmers, it said. The plan uses digital platforms and village-based virtual classrooms. Jio will provide training modules in Indian languages.
The partnership will cover virtual farmer training and Jio Krishi technology, Reliance said. It also includes hi-tech animal husbandry work and efforts to make farming attractive to young Indians. The school is set to combine artificial intelligence with traditional farming knowledge, the company said.
The proposed approach includes pest alerts and drones for crop-health mapping, according to Reliance. Robotics, cloud computing, market intelligence and greenhouse technology are part of it as well. The company said the partnership and CBG investment are intended to support agriculture and clean energy in Andhra Pradesh.
