Bengaluru-based cross-border fintech startup Xflow has raised $16.6 million in its Series A funding round, marking a significant step in its growth journey. The round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing investors including Square Peg, Lightspeed, Stripe, and others, while PayPal Ventures joined as a new backer. The fresh investment reportedly values the company at around $85 million post-money.

Founded in 2021 by Anand Balaji, Ashwin Bhatnagar, and Abhijit Chandrasekaran, Xflow aims to simplify global money movement for Indian businesses. The startup provides cross-border payment solutions designed for exporters, SaaS companies, global capability centres (GCCs), IT service providers, and freelancers who receive payments from overseas clients.

With this latest funding, Xflow plans to strengthen its payments infrastructure, expand into new geographies, and invest in product innovation. The company is positioning itself as a key enabler for Indian businesses going global, at a time when cross-border trade and digital exports are witnessing rapid growth.

Xflow Strengthening India’s Cross-Border Payment Infrastructure

India’s B2B cross-border payments ecosystem has been evolving quickly as more startups, D2C brands, SaaS companies, and service exporters cater to global customers. However, traditional banking routes often come with slower settlement cycles, hidden charges, and limited transparency.

Xflow addresses these pain points by offering a digital-first platform that allows businesses to collect international payments in multiple currencies. The company claims to support transactions from over 100 countries, helping Indian exporters reduce complexities associated with forex conversion and compliance.

A key highlight of Xflow’s platform is its technology-driven approach. It has developed an AI-powered treasury decision support system designed to help finance teams optimise foreign exchange conversions. This feature enables businesses to make smarter currency decisions, especially during volatile market conditions.

Regulatory Backing and Market Opportunity

One of Xflow’s major strengths lies in its regulatory approval. The startup holds authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as a Payment Aggregator – Cross Border (PA-CB) for both exports and imports. This approval is crucial in the tightly regulated Indian fintech ecosystem, ensuring that the company operates within full compliance norms.

The fresh capital will likely help Xflow deepen its presence in key international markets including Singapore, Europe, and the Middle East, where Indian exporters have growing footprints. By combining regulatory compliance, technology infrastructure, and competitive pricing, the company aims to build a long-term moat in the cross-border payments space.

Growing Investor Confidence in Indian Fintech

The participation of global investors such as General Catalyst and PayPal Ventures reflects strong confidence in India’s fintech innovation story. As Indian businesses increasingly expand overseas, demand for seamless cross-border payment solutions is expected to rise further.

Xflow’s Series A funding not only strengthens its balance sheet but also reinforces the broader narrative that Indian fintech startups are building globally scalable infrastructure. With cross-border commerce becoming mainstream for Indian SMEs and startups, platforms like Xflow are set to play a pivotal role in enabling smoother, faster, and more transparent global transactions.
