Mumbai-based clean-label health food startup The Whole Truth is in advanced discussions to raise around $34 million (approximately Rs 304 crore) as part of its Series D funding round. Once completed, the round is expected to value the company at close to $400 million (about Rs 3,600 crore), marking a strong jump from its previous valuation and highlighting growing investor confidence in India’s health and wellness space.
Series D Funding Led by Existing Investors
The Series D round is being led by existing backer Sofina Ventures, which plans to invest nearly Rs 190 crore, making it the largest contributor in this fundraise. Other current investors, including Sauce.VC and Frangipani Capital, are also participating in the round. Sauce.VC is expected to infuse around Rs 110 crore, while Frangipani Capital is investing close to Rs 4 crore.
While investments from some participants have already been received, Sofina Ventures’ contribution is still in process. The company’s board has approved the issuance of Series D compulsory convertible preference shares (CCPS) to raise the targeted capital.

Purpose of the Fundraise
According to filings, the fresh capital will be primarily used for business expansion and general corporate purposes. The Whole Truth is likely to invest in product innovation, brand building, and strengthening its supply chain as it scales across India. The company operates in a highly competitive segment where consumer trust, distribution strength, and consistent product quality play a crucial role.
The Whole Truth’s Sharp Jump in Valuation
With this new round, The Whole Truth’s valuation is expected to rise by nearly 70% compared to its last funding round. The company was valued at around Rs 2,100 crore earlier, and the new valuation places it among the more valuable consumer health-focused startups in the country. The company may also raise additional capital within this round, which could further impact the final valuation.
ESOP Pool Expansion Signals Growth Focus
Along with raising capital, The Whole Truth has expanded its employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). The company added over 13,000 new ESOP options, taking the overall ESOP pool value to more than Rs 220 crore. This move reflects the startup’s intent to attract and retain skilled talent as it prepares for its next phase of growth.
Growing Product Portfolio and D2C Strength
Founded with a strong focus on transparency and clean ingredients, The Whole Truth offers products such as protein bars, peanut butter, dark chocolates, energy bars, immunity snacks, and muesli. A major share of its revenue, nearly 80–85%, comes from its own direct-to-consumer platform, with the rest generated through selective offline and online partnerships.
The brand’s emphasis on clean labels and clear ingredient communication has helped it build trust among health-conscious Indian consumers.
Revenue Growth with Controlled Losses
Financially, the company has reported over three times growth in revenue in the last financial year. Revenue increased from around Rs 65 crore in FY24 to nearly Rs 216 crore in FY25. However, losses also widened modestly to about Rs 28 crore, which is common for fast-growing consumer brands investing heavily in scale and marketing.
Strong Backing and Market Position
Before this Series D round, The Whole Truth had raised close to $38 million across earlier funding rounds. Post the latest investment, key backers such as Sofina Ventures and Sauce.VC are expected to hold significant minority stakes, reinforcing their long-term belief in the company’s vision.
With increasing awareness around healthy eating and clean nutrition in India, The Whole Truth’s latest funding round positions it strongly to capitalise on the growing demand and further cement its presence in the Indian consumer wellness market.
