India’s electric vehicle ecosystem continues to gain momentum as EV charging startup Statiq has raised $18 million (approximately ₹163 crore) in a fresh funding round led by Tenacity Ventures. The round also saw participation from existing backers including Y Combinator, Shell Ventures, and RCD Holdings. The mix of equity and debt financing reflects growing investor confidence in India’s rapidly expanding EV infrastructure market.

Founded in 2020, Statiq has emerged as one of the prominent players building a nationwide EV charging network. Headquartered in Gurugram, the company offers a combination of hardware and software-led solutions to make EV charging accessible, efficient, and seamless for users. From AC chargers to high-speed DC fast chargers, the company aims to cater to diverse electric vehicle segments, including passenger cars, two-wheelers, and commercial fleets.

Funds to Drive Aggressive Expansion Across Cities

With this new capital infusion, Statiq plans to significantly expand its charging footprint across Tier I and Tier II cities, where EV adoption is picking up pace. The company intends to strengthen its presence along key highways and urban corridors to ensure smoother intercity EV travel.

A considerable portion of the funds will be allocated toward deploying additional fast-charging stations and improving the lifecycle efficiency of its charging hardware. The company is also investing in improving charger uptime and performance through enhanced monitoring systems and backend technology upgrades.

India’s EV market is witnessing steady growth, but charging infrastructure remains one of the biggest challenges. Statiq’s focus on scaling strategically could help bridge this infrastructure gap and reduce range anxiety for EV users.

Technology-Driven Approach to EV Charging

Statiq differentiates itself through its integrated digital platform. Its mobile application allows users to locate, book, and pay for charging sessions conveniently. The platform also provides real-time charger availability, helping EV owners plan their journeys efficiently.

The startup has built strong partnerships with real estate developers, commercial property owners, hospitality brands, automobile OEMs, and fleet operators. By installing chargers at malls, offices, residential complexes, hotels, and highway stops, Statiq is building a widespread charging ecosystem that aligns with changing urban mobility needs.

Over the years, the company has expanded its operations to more than 100 cities and established thousands of charging points across India. This strong network presence gives it an edge in a competitive and fast-moving market.

Competitive Landscape and Growth Outlook

India’s EV charging segment is becoming increasingly competitive, with multiple startups and established players racing to scale. However, investor interest in Statiq suggests that the company’s growth strategy, technology backbone, and partnerships are resonating strongly with stakeholders.

As government initiatives and policy support continue to boost electric mobility adoption, private sector infrastructure players like Statiq will play a critical role in accelerating the transition. The company is reportedly focused on doubling its installed charging capacity over the next few years, reinforcing its ambition to become a dominant EV infrastructure provider.

Strengthening India’s Clean Mobility Vision

The latest funding round comes at a time when India’s clean energy push is gaining stronger traction. Electric mobility is not only about reducing fuel dependency but also about building sustainable urban transport solutions for the future.

By expanding its network and improving charger efficiency, Statiq is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s EV revolution. With strong investor backing and a clear roadmap, the startup appears well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to the country’s clean mobility goals.

As EV adoption accelerates across the country, reliable and accessible charging infrastructure will be the backbone of this transformation — and Statiq seems determined to power that journey.
