RISA Labs, an AI-focused healthtech startup working to simplify and modernise cancer care operations, has raised $11.1 million (around ₹91 crore) in a fresh funding round. The latest capital infusion marks a major step forward for the company as it looks to deepen its presence in the oncology ecosystem and scale its technology across large healthcare networks.

The funding round was co-led by Cencora Ventures and Optum Ventures, with participation from Oncology Ventures, Z21 Ventures, Ventureforgood, along with continued support from Binny Bansal, who had also backed the startup in its earlier seed round. Investor interest in RISA Labs reflects increasing confidence in AI-driven solutions that address real-world inefficiencies in healthcare delivery.

Building an AI Operating System for Oncology Workflows

Founded by Kshitij Jaggi and Kumar Shivang, RISA Labs is developing what it describes as an AI operating system for oncology workflows. The platform is designed to handle complex administrative and clinical processes that are traditionally time-consuming and heavily manual in cancer care settings.

Oncology practices often deal with fragmented systems, long approval cycles, insurance authorisations, benefits verification, and care coordination challenges. These operational delays can significantly affect patient experience and treatment timelines. RISA Labs aims to reduce this friction by using AI agents that can operate across multiple systems, automate repetitive tasks, and enable care teams to focus more on patients rather than paperwork.

Use of Funds to Drive Expansion and Product Growth

With the newly raised funds, RISA Labs plans to accelerate product development, expand deployments across hospitals and cancer care networks in the US, and strengthen its technology capabilities. A large portion of the capital will be directed toward improving integration with existing healthcare infrastructure such as electronic health records, payer systems, and internal clinical tools.

The startup is also looking to scale its customer base by onboarding more oncology providers and enterprise healthcare organisations. By doing so, it hopes to demonstrate measurable improvements in operational efficiency, turnaround times, and overall quality of care delivery.

Early Traction and Real-World Impact

RISA Labs’ platform has already shown encouraging early traction. Its AI-driven workflows help automate prior authorisations, benefits checks, and other administrative processes that often slow down cancer treatment. In many cases, these automations have led to faster approvals and a noticeable reduction in manual workload for healthcare staff.

The company’s broader vision goes beyond simple automation. By enabling AI agents to act across systems with minimal human intervention, RISA Labs is positioning its platform as a digital extension of healthcare teams—capable of navigating complex processes at scale and with greater consistency.

Strong Investor Confidence in Healthtech AI

The participation of global healthcare-focused investors in this round highlights a growing belief that AI can play a transformative role in healthcare operations. Continued backing from Binny Bansal also adds strategic credibility to the startup, especially from an Indian entrepreneurial perspective that values scalable, tech-first solutions to large systemic problems.

As RISA Labs moves into its next phase of growth, its progress will be closely watched within the healthtech and AI communities. If successful, the company could help redefine how oncology care is managed, making it faster, more efficient, and more patient-centric through intelligent automation.
