Jaipur-based personal finance startup Finanjo has raised ₹1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm AJVC, marking an important milestone in its early growth journey. The round was backed by AJVC under the leadership of investor Aviral Bhatnagar, reinforcing investor confidence in India’s fast-evolving personal finance management space.

With this fresh capital infusion, Finanjo aims to strengthen its technology stack, expand its team, and enhance its AI-led financial assistant as it scales operations across the country.

Funding to Strengthen AI-Powered Finance Assistant “Jo”

Finanjo plans to use the newly raised funds to enhance its AI-driven personal finance assistant, “Jo”. The assistant is designed to offer personalised financial insights by analysing user behaviour, income patterns, expenses, investments, and liabilities.

The startup is focusing heavily on improving decision intelligence capabilities, which will allow users to receive more contextual and actionable financial guidance. The funds will also support the development of goal-based financial planning tools and credit optimisation features that aim to help individuals make smarter borrowing and investment decisions.

Another major area of investment will be Finanjo’s Account Aggregator integration. By leveraging India’s Account Aggregator framework, the platform allows users to securely link multiple bank accounts, investments, and financial products in one place. Strengthening this infrastructure will enable Finanjo to provide a more seamless and unified financial overview to its users.

Founders Betting on Behaviour-First Finance

Finanjo was founded by Prithviraj Singh Chauhan and Pankaj Singh Chauhan, entrepreneurs who also built the popular YouTube channel “Backstage with Millionaires.” With a strong understanding of startup ecosystems and young audiences, the founders have positioned Finanjo as a “behaviour-first” finance platform.

Instead of focusing only on transactions and numbers, Finanjo aims to understand financial habits, spending psychology, and long-term life goals. The platform then uses AI to deliver personalised suggestions on savings, budgeting, fixed deposits, and mutual fund investments.

This approach targets India’s young, digitally active population who are comfortable with fintech apps but often lack structured financial planning.

Finanjo’s Early Traction and Growing User Engagement

Since its beta launch, Finanjo has gained notable early traction. The startup has onboarded over 5,000 users and is reportedly seeing around 500 daily active users. This early adoption suggests growing interest in AI-powered personal finance solutions among young Indians.

The platform has also reported more than ₹25 crore worth of savings connected through user accounts, indicating meaningful engagement with the app’s features.

From a revenue perspective, Finanjo has started generating early income through referral commissions on fixed deposits and mutual fund recommendations. While still at a nascent stage, this monetisation model indicates a scalable path as user numbers grow.

AJVC’s Backing Signals Strong Early-Stage Confidence

The investment from AJVC adds Finanjo to the fund’s portfolio of early-stage startups across multiple sectors. AJVC has been actively backing promising founders at the idea and early-growth stage, focusing on innovative business models with long-term potential.

For Finanjo, the ₹1.5 crore pre-seed funding is expected to accelerate product development, strengthen compliance capabilities, and expand its team across engineering, product, and growth roles.

As fintech adoption continues to rise in India, personal finance management is becoming increasingly data-driven and AI-powered. With its behaviour-first approach and AI assistant “Jo,” Finanjo is positioning itself as a new-age financial companion for India’s next generation of earners and investors.
