Credfix, a startup that uses artificial intelligence to help borrowers who are struggling with debt, has raised Rs 16.1 crore. Tanglin Venture Partners led the seed round. Stargazer also participated in the round.

The money will go into product work and its proprietary AI models. The company will also use it to expand the support network it runs for borrowers across the country.

What the platform does

Credfix is built for the stage after a borrower has already missed payments. It helps people understand what they owe and see the options open to them. It also helps them deal with lenders, recovery agents and legal notices without losing track of the process.

Its services cover debt assessment, loan resolution, loan consolidation and AI-powered legal guidance. The company says it currently serves more than two lakh borrowers.

Three tools sit inside the product. Risi is a financial assistant that explains a borrower’s debt and points to possible resolution routes. Neytra, described as an AI Call Shield, helps users handle recovery calls, produces call summaries and documents possible issues with collection practices. The third, an AI Legal Assistant, helps borrowers read legal notices, prepare draft responses for review and spot the next step.

Who is behind it

Credfix was founded in 2025 by Ranjan Agarwal, Neeraj Kulkarni and Ayush Kedia. Before this round, the company had raised Rs 4.5 crore from K2 Capital, Invstt Trust and a group of angel investors.

Agarwal said financial distress usually arrives with confusion and anxiety, and often with no trustworthy guidance to fall back on. He said the company is using AI to simplify one of the most complicated financial experiences a person can go through.

Kulkarni framed the problem as fragmentation. Resolving a loan usually means dealing with lenders, recovery agencies and legal processes that do not talk to each other. Credfix wants to unify that journey on a single platform.

Why investors are looking at this gap

India has built a large credit distribution machine. Very little infrastructure exists to help borrowers when repayment becomes difficult. That gap widens as more young borrowers enter the system, which is the opening Credfix is going after.

Shashank Sabesan, a principal at Tanglin Venture Partners, said the company is built on a simple insight. Borrowers who are guided properly, he said, are more likely to repay. That, he said, creates value for everyone in the credit ecosystem. Early demand has been strong enough to justify backing the team as it scales.
