Issue Size And Reservations
The Jio Platforms IPO carries two reservations. Shares worth up to Rs 500 crore are set aside for eligible employees of the company.
A second bucket of up to Rs 2,500 crore is reserved for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders. That covers individuals and Hindu Undivided Families holding Reliance Industries public equity shares. The eligibility cut-off is October 14, 2026, subject to applicable rules.
Employees and existing shareholders together account for a meaningful slice of the offer. The shareholder portion is the larger of the two.
The Key Dates
The anchor investor bidding date is October 19. The public issue then stays open for three days.
Anchors bid before the public window opens. That gives the Jio Platforms IPO an early read on institutional demand. The anchor allocation is published ahead of the other phases.
Why The Issue Matters
Jio Platforms is a household name in telecom and digital services. The Jio Platforms IPO brings it to public investors for the first time. It is set to be one of the largest Indian offerings this year.
A fresh issue means the money goes to the company rather than to selling shareholders. Up to 27 crore shares at a Rs 10 face value is the structural part. The price band and the total issue size will follow in a later filing.
What Investors Should Watch
The reserved quota links the Jio Platforms IPO to an existing investor base of significant size. For Reliance Industries shareholders, the eligibility cut-off is already fixed at October 14.
The two numbers that still matter are the price band and the valuation. Both are expected closer to the anchor date. Together they will decide how the issue is received by institutions and retail investors.
