Venture capital firm Accel, through its startup scaling initiative Accel Atoms, has partnered with Google’s AI Futures Fund to launch the AI Cohort 2026, a programme aimed at supporting promising early-stage artificial intelligence startups.
The initiative is designed to help founders build and scale AI-driven products by offering funding, infrastructure support, and mentorship from industry experts. The programme attracted more than 4,000 applications from AI startups across the world, highlighting the rising momentum in the global AI ecosystem.
After a competitive selection process, five startups were chosen to join the 2026 cohort.
Each selected startup will receive co-investment of up to $2 million from Accel and Google’s AI Futures Fund. In addition to funding, the companies will also get up to $350,000 in compute credits, which can be used for services such as Google Cloud infrastructure, Gemini AI models, and tools developed by Google DeepMind.
