Bengaluru-based logistics startup Shadowfax Technologies is preparing to make its debut on the Indian stock markets, and the upcoming initial public offering (IPO) is expected to unlock substantial wealth for its early investors, founders and strategic shareholders. With a price band set between ₹118 and ₹124 per share, the company is looking to raise close to ₹1,907 crore, placing it among the most closely watched IPOs in India’s logistics and supply chain space this year.

As investor interest builds around the listing, attention is increasingly shifting to the significant gains expected for long-term backers who supported Shadowfax during its early growth years.

Strong Returns Expected for Prominent Investors

Several marquee investors are set to benefit from the IPO, with the offer-for-sale component enabling partial exits at attractive valuations. Flipkart, which backed Shadowfax in its formative years, is expected to nearly triple its investment as it sells a portion of its holdings through the public issue. The ecommerce giant’s exit is being seen as a vote of confidence in Shadowfax’s business fundamentals and market positioning.

Global investment firm Eight Roads Ventures is among the biggest gainers, with estimates suggesting nearly a tenfold return on its investment. Other institutional investors such as Mirae Asset, Nokia Growth Partners and the International Finance Corporation are also likely to clock multi-time gains, reflecting the sharp appreciation in the company’s valuation over the years.

Individual backers are set to see even sharper returns. Snapdeal co-founder Kunal Bahl, along with Rohit Kumar Bansal, is expected to generate one of the highest multiples from the IPO. Their early-stage investment in Shadowfax is estimated to translate into returns exceeding 150 times the original capital, underlining the long-term value creation potential of early startup bets.

IPO Structure and Valuation Outlook

The Shadowfax IPO comprises a fresh issue of approximately ₹1,000 crore and an offer-for-sale worth around ₹907 crore by existing shareholders. At the upper end of the price band, the company is expected to command a valuation of nearly ₹7,400 crore.

Market observers note that the valuation has been pitched at a level that balances growth expectations with investor comfort, especially in the current environment where profitability, scale and sustainability are under close scrutiny. The funds raised through the fresh issue will be used to strengthen logistics infrastructure, expand delivery networks, invest in technology and support long-term growth initiatives.

Business Model and Growth Trajectory

Founded in 2015, Shadowfax has emerged as a key player in India’s last-mile and logistics ecosystem. The company operates a tech-enabled delivery platform that serves ecommerce marketplaces, direct-to-consumer brands and hyperlocal businesses across more than 14,000 pin codes. Its network of over one lakh delivery partners allows it to provide fast and reliable services across urban and semi-urban markets.

Shadowfax has steadily expanded its offerings from marketplace logistics to include express delivery, reverse logistics and same-day fulfilment, aligning itself with the rapid rise of quick commerce and online retail in India. Improved operational efficiency and better unit economics have further strengthened its case ahead of the IPO.

What the IPO Means for the Indian Startup Ecosystem

The Shadowfax listing is being closely tracked as another milestone for India’s maturing startup ecosystem. For early investors and founders, it represents a significant liquidity event after years of execution in a highly competitive sector. For the broader market, it reinforces confidence that technology-led logistics firms can scale sustainably and deliver long-term value.

As the IPO opens for subscription, investor sentiment around Shadowfax’s growth prospects, financial performance and listing gains will determine how the company’s public market journey unfolds. Regardless of short-term market movements, the IPO already stands out as a major success story for early backers who believed in Shadowfax’s vision from the start.
