In a major move for India’s electric vehicle market, TVS Motor Company has partnered with ALT Mobility to deploy 3,000 electric three-wheelers in the fiscal year 2025–26. This collaboration is set to reshape urban transportation by introducing cleaner, eco-friendly vehicles for both passengers and cargo.
The partnership is a step forward in reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable mobility. By combining TVS’s manufacturing expertise with ALT Mobility’s innovative leasing and financing solutions, this initiative aims to make electric three-wheelers accessible and affordable for individual drivers as well as fleet operators across India.
The Drive-to-Own Model
TVS Motor, known for its two- and three-wheeler innovations, will supply the electric vehicles. ALT Mobility, a startup focused on electric vehicle leasing and fleet management, will manage the procurement, leasing, and lifecycle management. Together, they are creating a seamless solution for drivers transitioning from traditional fuel-powered vehicles to electric mobility.
The vehicles will be available through authorized TVS dealerships and ALT Mobility’s nationwide sales points. ALT’s “Drive-to-Own” model allows drivers to lease vehicles initially and gradually move towards full ownership. This approach makes switching to electric vehicles less risky and more financially manageable.
Driving Towards a Sustainable Future
The deployment of 3,000 electric three-wheelers is a game-changer for urban transport. Electric vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions, which helps reduce air pollution in cities. They also offer lower running costs compared to traditional petrol or diesel vehicles, saving money for drivers over time.
Designed for durability and efficiency, these EVs offer a longer driving range and faster charging capabilities. The initiative not only supports drivers but also aligns with India’s broader goal of sustainable urban mobility.
Behind the Wheels
Rajat Gupta, Business Head – Commercial Mobility at TVS Motor Company, highlighted that the partnership is a major step in enabling large-scale, sustainable last-mile transportation.
Anuj Gupta, Co-founder and CBO of ALT Mobility, emphasized that partnering with TVS gives ALT access to industry-leading EV technology. This helps scale leasing and fleet operations more effectively, ensuring more drivers can adopt electric mobility without financial hurdles.
India’s Green future with EV
This collaboration signals a promising future for India’s electric vehicle ecosystem. By deploying 3,000 electric three-wheelers, TVS Motor and ALT Mobility are paving the way for cleaner, greener urban transportation.
With sustainable mobility gaining momentum, such partnerships demonstrate how innovation and technology can work together to solve environmental challenges while offering practical solutions for drivers and fleet operators.
