OTPless has a new person running its technology. The Bengaluru startup has appointed Geetanshu Singla, former vice president of technology at BharatPe, as its chief technology officer.
Singla is not a stranger to the company’s founders. He worked closely with OTPless co-founders Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar during BharatPe’s early growth years. He later co-founded Genwise, which shut down operations in December last year.
What Singla will run
At OTPless, Singla will oversee engineering, product development, platform architecture, reliability and security. That covers the company’s authentication and fraud prevention systems.

A string of leadership changes
The CTO appointment is the latest in a run of leadership moves at the company. On 18 September, OTPless elevated Nathani to chief executive officer and Sagar to chief operating officer.
On 1 October, early team member Manas Poddar was named chief business officer. Singla’s entry completes a top team that is now largely made up of people who worked together before.
What OTPless does, and how big it has got
Founded in 2023, OTPless sells authentication and identity infrastructure to consumer internet companies. Its platform verifies users without leaning on SMS-based one-time passwords.
The company claims to authenticate more than 300 million users. Its client list includes Meesho, Zepto, Navi, PhysicsWallah, ShareChat, Shiprocket and ixigo, which is a roster of some of India’s busiest consumer apps.
Business has followed. OTPless says its topline has grown 2.5 times over the past year, reaching annualised revenue of Rs 36 crore, and that it has been break-even for two quarters. It has raised more than $6 million, from investors including Venture Highway, White Venture, FJ Labs, SIDBI and Piper Serica.
Why the hire matters
Authentication has become a heavier problem as Indian consumer apps scale. A login layer that buckles under load can cost a platform customers on its busiest days, and that is the risk OTPless is selling against.
Sagar framed the appointment around reliability. “A failed or slow authentication is a lost customer,” he said, adding that Singla has built and run technology at unicorn scale.
Singla described the move as coming back home, pointing to his BharatPe years with Nathani and Sagar. He said the shift from plain OTP authentication to a wider identity and trust layer is the opportunity he is signing up for.
