Bengaluru-based startup Michezo Sports has raised $2.5 million (around ₹21 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Centre Court Capital, with participation from Rainmatter Capital, the investment arm of Zerodha. The fresh funds will help the company expand its reach across India and build world-class sports facilities for schools, communities, and professional organizations.
Founded in 2019, Michezo Sports has quickly become a trusted name in the sports infrastructure industry. The company offers end-to-end services — from design and planning to construction and maintenance of sports facilities. Over the past few years, it has successfully completed more than 350 projects for over 175 clients, setting new standards for quality and innovation in this fast-growing sector.
Building India’s Playgrounds of the Future
Michezo Sports was born out of a simple but powerful idea: India deserves better playgrounds. While the country has immense sporting talent, access to quality infrastructure often limits how far that talent can go. Michezo aims to change that by building safe, durable, and professional-grade sports grounds that meet international standards.
The company’s portfolio includes football and hockey fields, tennis and badminton courts, basketball and volleyball arenas, and even new-age facilities for sports like padel and pickleball. Each project is built using global best practices and certified materials that ensure long-term performance and safety. Michezo follows the standards of major international federations such as FIFA, FIH, ITF, and World Athletics, making sure that every facility they build can host both local and professional-level games.
Turning Investment into Impact
The newly raised $2.5 million will allow Michezo to expand into new verticals, including swimming pools, public sports centers, and school-level playgrounds. The company also plans to develop a large-scale distribution platform for sports-construction materials and equipment, simplifying access to high-quality infrastructure components across the country.
Another key focus area will be collaboration with state governments and urban authorities through public-private partnerships. By doing so, Michezo hopes to bring international-standard sports facilities to local communities, schools, and housing societies — helping every child and aspiring athlete get access to safe and inspiring spaces to play.
This funding marks an important step not only for Michezo but also for India’s growing sports ecosystem. With increasing interest in fitness, school sports, and community tournaments, there is a rising need for organized, well-maintained, and accessible playing spaces. Michezo’s mission directly supports that shift.
Making Sports a Lifestyle for Every Indian
Beyond just construction, Michezo Sports wants to make sports a way of life for people of all ages. The company believes that the future of Indian sports depends on grassroots participation — when kids, teenagers, and even working professionals have places to play, they naturally stay active, healthy, and motivated.
For young children, better playgrounds mean better experiences. Clean grounds, smooth turf, and safe courts make every game more enjoyable and help kids fall in love with playing outside. Michezo’s vision is to make this experience common in every school and community in India.
The Road Ahead
With this new round of funding, Michezo Sports is set to accelerate its mission of building world-class sporting infrastructure across the country. As it grows, the startup aims to bring India closer to becoming a truly sports-driven nation — one where good infrastructure fuels passion, performance, and pride.
