India’s mobility startup Namma Yatri has secured fresh capital from its existing investors as it continues to scale its driver-first ride-hailing platform. The Bengaluru-based company, which has backing from Google, aims to strengthen its technology and expand its presence across more Indian cities.
The funding round reflects growing investor confidence in Namma Yatri’s unique approach to urban mobility, which focuses on empowering drivers and creating a more transparent ride-booking ecosystem.
Funding to Support Growth and Technology
The latest investment round includes participation from existing backers who have previously supported the company’s growth journey. While the exact amount raised in this round has not been publicly disclosed, the fresh capital is expected to help the company improve its technology infrastructure and expand its services.
Earlier, Namma Yatri had raised around $11 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by venture capital firms such as Blume Ventures and Antler, along with participation from Google. That funding played a key role in helping the startup expand its operations and improve its platform for both drivers and riders.
Driver-Centric Ride-Hailing Model
Namma Yatri operates under Moving Tech, a company that emerged from payments infrastructure firm Juspay. The platform allows users to book auto-rickshaws and cabs while focusing on a driver-first business model.
Unlike traditional ride-hailing platforms that charge commissions on every trip, Namma Yatri follows a subscription-based model. Drivers pay a fixed fee instead of a percentage of each ride, allowing them to keep a larger share of their earnings.
The platform is also built on open digital infrastructure and is aligned with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), supporting the broader goal of creating interoperable digital mobility services in India.
Expansion Plans Across Indian Cities
Since its launch in Bengaluru in 2022, Namma Yatri has rapidly expanded its presence across multiple cities. The platform has already facilitated millions of rides while building a large base of drivers and users.
With fresh funding now secured, the startup plans to strengthen its product development and scale its services further across the country. It is also working towards integrating multiple transportation options to make urban travel smoother and more accessible.
As competition intensifies in India’s ride-hailing market, Namma Yatri is positioning itself as a strong homegrown alternative by focusing on transparency, affordability, and better earnings for drivers.
