Math-focused edtech platform Bhanzu recorded impressive financial growth in the fiscal year ending March 2025. The Hyderabad-based startup reported a sharp rise in operating revenue, which increased 3.7 times year-on-year to Rs 109.5 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 29.4 crore in FY24. This strong growth highlights the company’s expanding global presence and rising demand for specialised mathematics learning programs.
Founded in 2020, Bhanzu offers experiential mathematics learning courses designed to enhance logical thinking and cognitive abilities among children aged 5 to 16 years. The startup has built a reputation for making mathematics easier and more engaging for students. According to the company, its programs have already trained over 50,000 students worldwide, reflecting the growing adoption of its learning platform.
The sale of these learning courses remained the primary source of revenue for Bhanzu during FY25. As digital learning continues to gain popularity among parents and students, the company has managed to scale its offerings across multiple countries.
International Markets Drive Major Revenue Contribution
Bhanzu’s growth story has been strongly supported by its international expansion. Financial filings reveal that international markets contributed around 69% of the company’s total revenue, generating Rs 75.7 crore in FY25. This marks a 4.3X increase compared to FY24, highlighting the startup’s strong traction outside India.

At the same time, the Indian market generated Rs 33.9 crore in revenue, registering nearly threefold growth year-on-year. While India continues to remain a key market, Bhanzu’s focus on global markets has played a crucial role in accelerating its revenue growth.
Controlled Spending Helps Reduce Overall Losses
Despite its rapid expansion, Bhanzu has managed to maintain relatively controlled spending. The company reported total expenses of Rs 193.6 crore in FY25, which represents an 11% increase from Rs 174.4 crore in FY24.
Employee benefit expenses remained the largest cost component for the company. However, this category actually declined by 17% to Rs 96.3 crore, largely due to lower ESOP-related costs during the year.
On the other hand, Bhanzu significantly increased its sales and marketing expenditure, which rose 46% year-on-year to Rs 40.8 crore. This increase reflects the company’s aggressive efforts to acquire new users and expand its presence in global markets. The startup also saw higher spending on recruitment and training as it scaled operations.
Losses Narrow as Business Continues to Scale
With strong revenue growth and better cost management, Bhanzu managed to reduce its losses significantly in FY25. The company reported net losses of Rs 79 crore, a 42% reduction compared to Rs 135.5 crore in FY24.
Although the company is still in the loss-making phase, the improved financial performance indicates stronger operational efficiency and better revenue traction.
Bhanzu also maintained a healthy financial position with Rs 167.5 crore in cash and bank balances at the end of FY25. With growing global demand for digital learning and its specialised focus on mathematics education, the startup is steadily strengthening its position in the competitive edtech sector.
