Bengaluru-based biotech startup Pandorum Technologies has raised $18 million (around ₹150 crore) in a Series B funding round, giving a strong boost to India’s growing regenerative medicine ecosystem. The round was led by Protons Corporate, with participation from Galentic Pharma, well-known market investor Ashish Kacholia, Noblevast Advisory, Avinya Fund, and the Burman Family, among others.

The latest capital infusion is expected to significantly accelerate Pandorum’s journey as it works towards advancing its clinical pipeline and expanding access to its regenerative therapies across global markets.

Capital to Accelerate Clinical Development and Manufacturing

Pandorum plans to deploy the fresh funds across multiple growth-focused initiatives. A major portion will go towards advancing clinical-stage programmes, strengthening regulatory capabilities, and scaling up manufacturing infrastructure. The company is also investing in building robust systems that support late-stage clinical trials and future commercialisation.

As part of its global growth roadmap, Pandorum has been actively expanding its manufacturing footprint beyond India. It has partnered with AGC Biologics in Italy to support production for the US and European markets. In Asia-Pacific, the company is working with Nucelion Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Bharat Biotech, to strengthen regional manufacturing and distribution capabilities. The startup is also exploring additional partnerships in the Middle East as part of its international expansion strategy.

Focus on Disease-Modifying Regenerative Therapies

Founded by Tuhin Bhowmick and Arun Chandru, Pandorum Technologies operates at the intersection of biology, engineering, and computation. The company develops exosome-based regenerative therapies designed to reprogram diseased tissues by reducing inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular dysfunction rather than just managing symptoms.

One of Pandorum’s most advanced programmes is Kuragenx, an ophthalmic therapy aimed at treating rare ocular surface disorders such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Neurotrophic Keratitis. The therapy has received Orphan Drug Designation from the US Food and Drug Administration, highlighting its potential to address critical unmet needs in rare eye diseases.

Beyond ophthalmology, the company is expanding its regenerative platform to explore treatments for chronic inflammatory and degenerative conditions affecting organs such as the lungs, liver, and nervous system.

Strong Investor Confidence and Expert Backing

The Series B round reflects growing investor confidence in Pandorum’s scientific approach and long-term potential. The funding was structured with strategic guidance from Bandana Kankani, aligning the company’s innovation roadmap with sustainable value creation.

Pandorum’s research and clinical efforts are further supported by collaborations with globally respected clinicians and research institutions, including Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in India, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, and Northwestern Medicine.

Strengthening India’s Position in Global Biotech

Pandorum Technologies’ successful Series B round underscores India’s rising role in advanced biotechnology and regenerative medicine. By combining deep scientific research with global partnerships and scalable manufacturing, the company is positioning itself as a serious global player in next-generation therapeutics.

With fresh capital in place, Pandorum is set to push key programmes forward, expand internationally, and bring innovative regenerative treatments closer to patients worldwide—reinforcing India’s growing credibility in cutting-edge life sciences.
