In the heart of Rajkot, Gujarat, where temperatures soar every summer, a young dreamer decided to bring comfort to homes and industries alike. That dreamer was Kalpesh Ramoliya, the founder of Raj Cooling Systems (RCS). What began in 2006 as a small venture with just ₹10,000 and a single 10×10-foot room has now become a global brand valued in crores. The story of RCS is not just about business success; it’s about vision, persistence, and the spirit to innovate against all odds.
The Humble Beginning
Kalpesh was a school dropout, but his determination to create something valuable never faded. Growing up in Rajkot, he observed how the harsh climate affected everyday life. Expensive air conditioners were beyond the reach of many households, and most local coolers lacked quality. With basic knowledge of plastic fabrication and a clear goal in mind, he decided to start a company that would make reliable and affordable air coolers for everyone. The early years were full of struggle. RCS suffered losses for nearly two years, materials were difficult to source, and customers were hesitant to try a new brand. But Kalpesh never gave up. He kept learning, improving his products, and building relationships one customer at a time.
Turning Challenges into Growth
Gradually, things started to change. Kalpesh focused on creating high-quality coolers that could perform even in tough conditions. His attention to design, energy efficiency, and durability helped the brand stand out in a competitive market. Raj Cooling Systems started gaining recognition in industrial and commercial sectors as well. Over the years, the company diversified into domestic, commercial, and industrial cooling solutions, including cooling towers and FRP components. Today, RCS has grown into a global brand exporting its products to over 30 countries and achieving an annual revenue of around ₹186 crore. This remarkable growth stands as proof of how persistence and innovation can turn a small dream into a large enterprise.
Expanding Reach and Innovation
Raj Cooling Systems has always believed in upgrading with time. The company’s latest products use modern technologies like BLDC motors, which save energy and ensure better cooling. Its air coolers, starting at around ₹8,000, are designed to be both affordable and long-lasting. RCS also has an extensive network of more than 300 channel partners and 5,000 dealers, ensuring its presence across major cities and smaller towns in India. The company is currently setting up a massive new manufacturing plant in Naika, Gujarat, with the capacity to produce 20 lakh coolers annually. This expansion aims to meet growing demand in both domestic and international markets while generating local employment opportunities.
The Road Ahead
Looking to the future, RCS plans to launch a new range of smart coolers and fans that integrate modern features for enhanced comfort. The company’s goal is to expand its footprint to 50 countries by 2030 and reach a valuation of nearly ₹6,000 crore. Kalpesh’s focus remains on making Indian cooling technology a trusted name worldwide. His journey shows that success doesn’t depend on degrees or big investments but on clear purpose and hard work. From a modest workshop to a global enterprise, Raj Cooling Systems is a shining example of Indian entrepreneurship that continues to inspire many.
