Bengaluru, August 15, 2025 – Independence Day celebrations carried a golden touch this year for KLE Basava Girls School, Kengeri, as its students scripted history by securing their first-ever Gold medal in the Tenvic Open Girls Table Tennis Tournament. The championship, hosted at KLE Rajajinagar on August 14, drew over 70 young paddlers from across the city, making the competition both vibrant and challenging.
The school team, mentored by Kamesh Gareri, Former Senior National Coach, rose to the occasion with exceptional teamwork and unwavering determination. Their victory not only marks a defining sporting milestone for the institution but also sets the tone for future achievements in competitive sports.
Poovi R Kumar Lifts the Gold
The star of the tournament was Poovi R Kumar, who delivered a series of outstanding performances to claim the Gold medal. Her sharp instincts, quick reflexes, and calm composure under pressure made her stand out among all participants.
Meanwhile, Inchara M fought her way through tough matches to secure the Silver medal, proving her consistency and resilience. Together, Poovi and Inchara showcased the rising calibre of table tennis at the school level, leaving a lasting impression on spectators and fellow players.
