Chennai-based fintech startup Uncia has raised $3 million (around ₹25 crore) in a seed funding round led by Pavestone. This marks the company’s first external investment, signalling a major milestone after years of building its technology and client base in the lending ecosystem.
Founded in 2020, Uncia positions itself as an AI-native lending infrastructure platform that helps banks and NBFCs digitise and automate their lending operations. With financial institutions increasingly shifting towards digital-first models, Uncia aims to simplify and modernise the entire loan lifecycle.
Product Offerings and Technology Edge
Uncia provides an integrated suite of products, including loan origination systems, loan management systems, and supply chain finance solutions. These tools are designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual processes, and enable faster loan approvals.
A key highlight of the platform is its low-code and no-code architecture, which allows lenders to customise and deploy solutions quickly without heavy technical dependencies. This flexibility gives financial institutions a competitive edge in a fast-evolving fintech environment.
Expansion Plans and Use of Funds
The newly raised capital will be used to enhance product capabilities, invest in advanced AI technologies, and strengthen the company’s team. Uncia also plans to expand its footprint beyond India, targeting global markets such as the Middle East, North Africa, and North America.
The company aims to onboard more banks and NBFCs while deepening its existing partnerships. By focusing on scalable and intelligent lending solutions, Uncia is positioning itself as a strong player in the global fintech space.
Rising Demand for Digital Lending
The funding comes at a time when demand for digital lending infrastructure is rapidly growing in India. Financial institutions are increasingly adopting AI-driven tools to improve credit assessment, reduce risks, and enhance customer experience.
Uncia’s solutions align with this trend by offering automation, speed, and data-driven insights. As India’s credit ecosystem becomes more technology-led, platforms like Uncia are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of lending.
With Pavestone’s backing, Uncia is now set to enter its next growth phase, focusing on innovation, scalability, and global expansion in the evolving fintech landscape.
