Silicon Valley-based defense tech startup Tsecond.ai has raised $21.5 million (around ₹190 crore) in funding, led by MSN Holdings, the family office of Solar Industries’ MD and CEO Manish Nuwal. The investment highlights growing global interest in deep-tech startups working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and defense infrastructure.
Founded in September 2020 by Sahil Chawla and Manavalan Krishnan, Tsecond.ai operates from San Jose, California, with a strong development base in Bengaluru. The company focuses on delivering high-performance, ruggedized computing and storage solutions for mission-critical environments where traditional cloud systems often fail due to connectivity and latency challenges.
Advanced edge AI platform driving innovation
At the heart of Tsecond.ai’s technology is its main BRYCK® platform, a powerful system that collects, processes, and saves large amounts of data right where it is created. These systems, designed for extreme environments, provide ultra-fast data processing speeds that facilitate real-time decision-making in defense and aerospace operations.
The BRYCK ecosystem includes multiple configurations such as portable high-capacity storage units, rack-mounted systems for data centers, and compact AI-powered modules designed for drones and autonomous systems. With new features like “air-gapped AI,” Tsecond allows for fast data processing without needing an internet connection, which is crucial for defense applications.
The platform also includes strong security features like zero-trust architecture, AES-256 encryption, and self-repairing file systems that keep data safe even if there are hardware failures. Its rugged design meets military-grade standards, making it suitable for deployment in harsh field conditions.
Strong growth outlook and global traction
Tsecond.ai has already secured over $21.5 million in funding rounds, with an estimated valuation exceeding $350 million. The company is building a strong pipeline, with projected sales exceeding $400 million over the next two years, reflecting rising demand for edge AI solutions globally.
It has partnered with major organizations such as Boeing-backed AEI HorizonX, BigBear.ai, and NVIDIA, and is actively working with defense programs across the US, UK, India, and Europe. Its solutions are being used in applications ranging from battlefield intelligence and drone surveillance to media production and autonomous vehicle data processing.
As India and other countries focus more on developing their own defense technologies and using AI, Tsecond.ai is making itself an important part of building advanced data systems for critical situations.
