Rawmart: Story of Pune Startup Powering Growth for India’s Small Manufacturing Units

Follow Us

A Pune-based startup called Rawmart is changing the game for small factories and manufacturers in India. Launched in 2021, this startup is helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) overcome problems like supply delays, idle machines, and cash flow issues. Rawmart offers an end-to-end platform that provides raw materials, credit, production support, and innovation to help these factories grow and compete globally.

Helping Small Factories Thrive

Rawmart understands the challenges of Indian SMEs: fragmented supply chains, uncertain procurement, and limited access to technology. The company combines technology and research to streamline procurement and production. Its platform uses data-driven tools and predictive models to match demand with supply and optimize factory capacity. This reduces downtime and cuts costs for small factories.

They have achieved over a million steel parts deliveries with very low rejection rates, something rare in India’s manufacturing sector. Instead of just supplying raw materials, Rawmart also offers credit aggregation, contract manufacturing, and custom machine design, helping factories to boost productivity and ensure quality.

Innovation with Rawmart Labs

To help SMEs move beyond making the same standard products, Rawmart has created an innovation hub called Rawmart Labs. This lab focuses on new product design, automation, and sustainable manufacturing practices like recycling scrap metal and plastics. This helps SMEs improve profit margins, enter new markets, and work in safer, greener environments.

Expanding Reach and Impact

Rawmart serves over 140 clients across 14 states and 250 pin codes, including sectors like infrastructure, railways, pharma, FMCG, solar, and heavy engineering. The startup has grown strongly without external funding, remaining profitable while doubling revenue year on year. By FY23-24, Rawmart crossed $10 million in revenue, showing a successful model for SME growth support.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Rawmart plans to digitize more SMEs with ERP and IoT technologies and expand its manufacturing ecosystem within industrial clusters. The company is also aiming to grow in Asian and European markets by building long-term partnerships with large firms. Sustainable manufacturing, innovation-led projects, and turnkey solutions will be key focus areas as they continue.
