Pocket FM Appoints Lalit Gangwar COO to Drive Growth

Pocket FM has promoted Lalit Gangwar to Chief Operating Officer (COO). This move comes as the company focuses on growing its business in global markets. In his new role, Gangwar will handle all international operations for the audio platform, including growth strategy, monetisation, and overall execution.

He has been part of the company since the beginning and has played a key role in building Pocket FM. As COO, he will now focus on expanding the company globally, improving operations, and building strong teams and systems for future growth.

Strong Experience in India and the US

Lalit Gangwar has already shown strong results in both India and the United States. In India, he helped create the company’s early growth strategy, which quickly scaled the platform to over 150 million users in its first year. This helped Pocket FM become a major player in the audio content space.

Later, as US Country Head, he led the company’s expansion into the American market. Under his leadership, the US business grew from scratch and crossed an annual revenue run rate of more than $25 million. Before joining Pocket FM, he worked with companies like Healthkart, Zomato, and Dineout, gaining experience in growth and operations.

Growth, Creators, and AI Strategy

Pocket FM is growing fast and calls itself an AI-first entertainment company. The platform now has over 250 million listeners globally and records more than 2.2 billion minutes of listening every month. Its parent company has also reported strong financial growth with a big jump in revenue in FY25. The platform has built a large creator community, with more than 300,000 writers creating over 100,000 audio series. Many creators are also earning well, with a good number making over ₹1 lakh per month.

Pocket FM is also using AI tools to help creators write and produce content faster. It is using advanced technology to translate and adapt Indian stories for international audiences, which will support its global growth plans. At the same time, Rahul Nag, who handled brand and communications, has stepped down after working with the company for four years.
