PhonePe has launched PulsePro, a new enterprise intelligence platform that helps businesses understand customer spending trends and make better business decisions. The platform uses aggregated and anonymised digital transaction data to provide hyperlocal and near real-time market insights across India.
PulsePro is built for businesses that want detailed information about consumer behaviour, market growth, and expansion opportunities. It is an upgraded commercial version of PhonePe Pulse, the company’s free public data platform launched in 2021. While PhonePe Pulse will continue to provide general digital payment trends for free, PulsePro is a paid service designed for enterprises that need deeper market intelligence.
The platform is powered by PhonePe’s network of more than 700 million registered users and 50 million registered merchants. It covers nearly 99% of India’s postal codes, giving businesses access to detailed market data from almost every part of the country.
PulsePro Gives Detailed Market Insights
Traditional market research usually depends on surveys and sample data, which can take time and may not always reflect real customer behaviour. PhonePe says PulsePro solves this problem by using actual digital transaction data to show spending trends as they happen.
One of the biggest features of PulsePro is its detailed location-based data. Businesses can study customer activity not only at the city or district level but also at the postal code level. The platform even provides insights through small 1 km × 1 km and 250 m × 250 m grids, making it easier for companies to identify the best places to open new stores or expand their services.
Businesses can also choose different time periods to analyse data. They can view weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly trends depending on their needs.
The platform also breaks down data based on age group, gender, affluence level, and Gen Z activity. It tracks consumer spending across more than 200 store categories and over 100 market signals, helping businesses understand which products and services are growing in different locations.
Three Solutions to Help Businesses Grow
PhonePe has introduced PulsePro with three main solutions for businesses.
The first is Category & Growth Intelligence, which helps companies track spending trends, monitor category performance, and identify new growth opportunities.
The second is Retail Network Intelligence, which helps businesses improve their distribution network. It allows companies to find high-potential markets, plan urban expansion, and identify new opportunities in rural areas using real transaction data.
The third is Hyperlocal Intelligence, which supports businesses in selecting the right locations for new stores, service centres, or franchise outlets. It also provides insights into local demand and digital payment activity before companies invest in a new market.
Speaking about the launch, PhonePe’s Head of Strategy, Karthik Raghupathy, said traditional market research often takes time and depends on surveys that may not fully represent actual buying behaviour. He said PulsePro gives businesses access to real transaction trends so they can make faster and better business decisions.
PhonePe Shares Interesting Market Trends While Focusing on Privacy
To show what PulsePro can do, PhonePe also shared some interesting insights from its transaction data.
According to the company, Chakan in Pune had the highest number of OTT users in the country. Marathahalli in Bengaluru recorded the highest number of late-night orders. Maharashtra was the top state for pet-related spending, while Kurung Kumey district in Arunachal Pradesh had lifestyle spending almost three times higher than the state average. In Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur recorded the highest healthcare spending in the state.
PhonePe also revealed that March 2, 2026, saw the highest single-day transaction value on its platform, crossing ₹65,000 crore. The company said this happened because it was the first working Monday of the month, just before Holi, and also during the beginning of the Middle East conflict. Another major shopping day was April 19, 2026, when a jewellery store recorded the highest activity on the platform during Akshaya Tritiya.
PhonePe has stressed that all the data used in PulsePro is aggregated and anonymised. The company says no personal information, merchant identity, or individual transaction details are shared through the platform.
The launch also shows how fintech companies in India are finding new ways to grow by using their large data networks for enterprise services. Since PulsePro only uses anonymised data, it generally falls outside the consent requirements of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. However, privacy experts still advise users to check their privacy settings if they want to reduce how their transaction data is used for commercial insights.
With PulsePro, PhonePe is moving beyond digital payments and entering the enterprise intelligence space by helping businesses understand India’s changing consumer market through data-backed insights while keeping user privacy at the centre.
