The LIC Bima Sakhi Scheme, recently launched by Prime Minister Modi, is making waves among women across India. Within just a month of its launch, this empowering initiative has seen an impressive registration of over 50,000 women. Designed to promote women’s empowerment and financial independence, the scheme offers women who have completed their 10th grade a chance to earn up to ₹7,000 monthly through salaries and commissions. Massive Response to the LIC Bima Sakhi Scheme

Over 50,000 Registrations in Just One Month

According to a statement released by LIC, the scheme has garnered a total of 52,511 registrations within its first month. Out of these, 27,695 women have been issued appointment letters to sell policies, while 14,583 women have already commenced selling these policies. Siddharth Mohanty, the Managing Director and CEO of LIC, emphasized the goal of recruiting at least one Bima Sakhi in every gram panchayat across the country within a year.

This scheme not only helps women to earn but also equips them with necessary skills and digital tools, thereby strengthening the Bima Sakhi workforce. Women engaged under this initiative will receive a monthly stipend in addition to the commission earned from policy sales.

Guaranteed Monthly Pay for Bima Sakhis

Under the LIC Bima Sakhi Scheme, each Bima Sakhi will receive a monthly stipend as follows:

This stipend acts as a basic support allowance while allowing female agents to earn additional commissions based on the insurance policies they sell. LIC aims to recruit two lakh Bima Sakhis in the next three years. Women aged between 18 to 70 years who have completed their 10th-grade education are eligible to apply for this empowering scheme.
