Bengaluru-based generative AI startup Gnani.ai has raised $10 million (around ₹94 crore) in its Series B funding round, led by Aavishkaar Capital, with participation from existing investor Info Edge Ventures.

The fresh capital will be utilised to expand the company’s reach across new sectors and international markets. A significant portion of the funds will also be directed towards research and development, along with strengthening its talent pool to accelerate innovation in voice AI technologies.

This funding comes at a time when demand for AI-driven automation and conversational platforms is rapidly increasing across industries in India and globally.

Focus On Sovereign AI And In-House Innovation

Founded in 2016 by Ganesh Gopalan and Ananth Nagaraj, Gnani.ai is building a full-stack, voice-first generative AI ecosystem tailored for enterprise use cases. The startup recently introduced its voice-first AI model “Inya” at the India Impact AI Summit 2026, positioning itself strongly in the emerging sovereign AI space.

The concept of sovereign AI focuses on developing AI systems that are locally built, culturally aligned, and compliant with national data regulations. Gnani.ai aims to create voice agents that can understand multiple Indian languages and deliver contextual, human-like interactions for businesses.

Growing Enterprise Adoption Across Sectors

Gnani.ai’s AI-powered solutions are already being used across industries such as BFSI, telecom, ecommerce, healthcare, and consumer internet. Its platform enables businesses to automate customer interactions, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience through conversational AI.

The company claims to serve over 200 enterprise clients and has onboarded more than 150 customers onto its AI platform “Inya”. These solutions include voice automation, agent assistance tools, and analytics-driven customer engagement systems.

India’s Voice AI Market Gains Momentum

With increasing digitisation and multilingual user bases, India has become a key market for voice-based AI solutions. Startups like Gnani.ai are playing a crucial role in shaping this ecosystem by building locally relevant AI models.

The latest funding round highlights growing investor confidence in India’s AI innovation landscape, especially in areas like conversational AI and sovereign AI infrastructure. As competition intensifies, Gnani.ai’s focus on voice-first, enterprise-grade solutions could position it as a strong player both in India and global markets.
