As the 2025 budget is set to be presented in just a few hours, millions across the country have received significant relief concerning gas cylinder prices. The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has reported that for the second consecutive month, there has been a reduction in the prices of gas cylinders, specifically commercial gas cylinders. When considering the cuts from recent months together, the price of commercial gas cylinders has decreased by more than ₹20. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders since March 2024. Decline in Commercial Gas Cylinder Prices
For the second month in a row, consumers have witnessed a decrease in the prices of commercial gas cylinders. In the capital city, Delhi, the price of a domestic gas cylinder has dropped by ₹7, bringing the new price to ₹1,797. Kolkata has seen a minimal decrease of ₹4, now costing ₹1,907. Meanwhile, both Mumbai and Chennai have observed a reduction of ₹6.5 in their commercial gas cylinder prices, setting their prices at ₹1,749.50 and ₹1,959.50, respectively. Over the past two months, the commercial gas cylinder prices have decreased by ₹21.5 in Delhi and Mumbai, while Kolkata and Chennai have recorded reductions of ₹20 and ₹21, respectively.

No Change in Prices for Domestic Gas Cylinders
On the other hand, domestic gas cylinder prices have remained unchanged for the 11th consecutive month. The last alteration occurred in March 2024, when the IOCL, following a government announcement, instituted a flat reduction of ₹100. This decision was aimed at providing relief to the public ahead of the Holi festival and Lok Sabha elections. Since then, domestic gas prices have been stable, with rates in Delhi remaining at ₹803. In Kolkata, the price is ₹829, while Mumbai and Chennai have prices set at ₹802.50 and ₹818.50, respectively.
