Tata Motors, a pioneering name in the Indian automobile industry, is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated Tata Harrier EV. This electric SUV, unveiled at Auto Expo 2025, has recently been spotted in its production version without any camouflage during testing, indicating that its launch is just around the corner.
Design and Styling of Tata Harrier EV
The external design of the Harrier EV features a sleek closed grille, a new front bumper, LED DRLs, and vertically oriented headlights. It will also offer a dual-tone exterior option, which is likely to be well-received by Indian customers. Spy images captured it in a chic white and black roof dual-tone configuration. The side profile is inspired by the existing Harrier ICE, showcasing ORVMs equipped with cameras, body cladding, roof rails, and sharp lines that add to its sporty aesthetic.
Interior and Features
While the interior was completely covered during testing, a glimpse of the 12.3-inch free-standing infotainment screen was visible. It is expected that this car will be equipped with features similar to its ICE version, including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, seven airbags, and blind-spot assist. These features will undoubtedly enhance the overall driving experience of the Harrier EV.
Powertrain and Performance
The Harrier EV will come with a dual-motor AWD variant capable of generating up to 500 Nm of torque. It will support fast charging and is expected to offer an impressive real-world driving range of around 500 km, making it a practical choice for electric vehicle enthusiasts.
Competitors and Market Potential
This electric SUV will pose a substantial challenge to competitors like the Mahindra XUV.e9. Tata Motors has already solidified its presence in the Indian EV market with models like the Nexon EV and Tiago EV. With the introduction of the Harrier EV, the company aims to establish itself in the premium electric SUV segment, catering to consumers seeking advanced features and sustainability.
The Tata Harrier EV, with its modern technology, powerful battery, and advanced features, is poised to hit Indian roads soon. This launch underscores Tata’s commitment to sustainable mobility and has the potential to usher in a significant change in the Indian EV segment.
