Opportunity to buy affordable cars and bikes, Delhi Police is set to take significant action

If you are planning to buy a bike, scooter, or car, then this news is just for you! The Delhi Traffic Police is set to conduct an auction of impounded vehicles, providing an excellent opportunity for you to purchase bikes and cars at unbeatable prices. This announcement is equally important for individuals whose vehicles have been impounded, as they must retrieve their vehicles before the upcoming deadline. Failure to do so may result in their hard-earned vehicles being sold off at low prices.

New Regulations: 37 Days to Retrieve Your Vehicle

The Delhi government is rolling out a new draft to improve parking regulations, specifying that if a vehicle is not retrieved within 37 days, officials may proceed with its auction. The Transport Department has proposed reducing the vehicle retrieval period from 90 days to just one month, marking a significant change in the existing norms.

Understanding the Current Process

Currently, under Section 16 of the Delhi Parking Maintenance and Management Rules of 2019, an individual is given 90 days to reclaim their vehicle. After this grace period, a 15-day notice is provided. If the vehicle owner still does not respond, the government has the authority to auction the vehicle. This means that from the time of impoundment to the notice period, owners effectively have a total of 105 days to act.

The Proposed Changes

With the introduction of the new draft regulations, this timeline will be substantially shortened. The new proposal aims to reduce the retrieval time to just 37 days, which includes a decrease in the notice period from 15 days to 7 days. This will compel vehicle owners to act swiftly to reclaim their vehicles.

Space Constraints for Impounded Vehicles

Transport Department officials have revealed that there are currently three designated pits for storing impounded vehicles. However, the influx of 50 to 60 new vehicles daily has resulted in these spaces becoming overcrowded. The necessity for new regulations arises from this pressing challenge, ensuring a more efficient management system for the impounded vehicles.

As auctions approach, interested buyers should stay informed about the scheduled auction dates and terms of purchase. This is a great chance to acquire quality vehicles at significantly reduced prices while understanding the importance of timely action for current owners facing vehicle impoundment.
