Bengaluru-based startup NORI is trying to change the way women travel with luggage and travel accessories made specially for them. Founded in 2025 by former Myntra and PharmEasy executive Meenakshi Vyas and product designer Rashika Nayak, the direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand recently raised $350,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Rebalance.

The funding round also included investments from Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, VSS Investco, and several angel investors from the consumer startup space. The company plans to use the money to grow its product range, increase retail presence, and expand its customer base across India.

NORI says most luggage brands follow a “one-size-fits-all” approach, where bags are mainly designed as unisex products. The startup wants to change that by creating travel products specially designed for women. According to the founders, women pack and organise differently and usually carry more travel items compared to men.

NORI Designs Travel Products Around Women’s Needs

NORI’s main product is its Carry-On Wheelie luggage, a 38-litre hard-shell cabin suitcase. The luggage is priced at ₹8,999 for the Old Money Brown and Millennial Pink colours, while the Butterscotch version costs ₹9,999 because of its faux-leather finish.

The company says the suitcase has been designed keeping Indian women travellers in mind. The trolley handle is adjusted according to the average height of Indian women to reduce shoulder strain during travel. The bag also includes useful features like a built-in weight indicator, removable spinner wheels, hidden valuables pocket, zip expander, and interior hooks for carrying extra shopping bags.

The luggage is made using a strong polycarbonate shell with recycled material. It also comes with YKK zippers and TSA-approved locks. NORI offers a six-year warranty on the luggage after registration.

Apart from luggage, the company has created a complete travel organisation system with matching packing organisers and accessories. All products are available in five common colours including Creme, Moss, Butterscotch, Millennial Pink, and Old Money Brown.

Organisers and Accessories Built for Easy Packing

NORI’s travel organisers are designed to fit perfectly inside the Carry-On luggage. The startup offers different organisers for shoes, makeup, clothes, and innerwear.

Its Solemate Shoe Organiser can carry up to four pairs of shoes while keeping them separate and protected. The Glowkit Makeup Toiletry Bag comes with separate sections for skincare products, makeup brushes, and hygiene essentials along with a built-in mirror.

Another popular product is the Vaulette Innerwear Organiser, which helps women pack bras without crushing them. It can also be used as a sling bag for day outings.

The company also sells Max and Midi packing cubes specially designed for Indian clothing such as sarees, dresses, and tops. Customers can buy these organisers separately or in bundle sets priced between ₹1,999 and ₹4,999.

NORI has also launched accessories like the Weekender Tote priced at ₹6,999. The tote includes a laptop sleeve, separate shoe compartment, and trolley pass-through. Another budget-friendly product is the Dangler Foldable Tote, which folds into a small charm and opens into a shopping tote during travel.

The startup also offers personalisation through UV heat engraving on selected products for an extra ₹799.

NORI Sees Strong Early Growth in India

Even though the startup launched recently, NORI says it has already served more than 4,000 customers across India. The company is currently tracking towards an annual revenue run rate (ARR) of around ₹2 crore.

The startup has also seen strong customer response. According to the company, its organiser range has received an 86% five-star rating, while nearly 20% of customers make repeat purchases within 60 days.

At present, NORI mainly sells through its own website as a digital-first D2C brand. It offers pan-India delivery, cash-on-delivery options, and easy returns. The company is now planning to expand into offline retail stores in metro cities and also explore airport retail partnerships in the future.

With more Indian consumers looking for stylish and practical travel products, NORI is aiming to build a full travel ecosystem for women instead of just becoming another luggage company.
