Luxury fashion marketplace Culture Circle has reported a sharp jump in its financial performance in FY25, posting almost 10 times growth in revenue compared to the previous year. The startup, which rose to national attention after appearing on Shark Tank India, is steadily emerging as a strong player in India’s premium sneaker and streetwear resale market.

The surge marks Culture Circle’s first full year of operations and highlights how the platform has converted visibility, consumer trust, and brand positioning into tangible revenue growth in a highly competitive ecommerce segment.

Strong Revenue Momentum in First Full Year of Operations

During FY25, Culture Circle recorded operating revenue of ₹3.4 crore, a significant jump from around ₹31 lakh reported in the previous financial year. Including other income, the company’s total income stood at nearly ₹3.8 crore, underscoring the rapid pace at which the business has scaled since its launch in early 2024.

This growth is particularly notable given that the startup was incorporated only a few months before operations began. The numbers indicate strong early product-market fit and growing demand for verified luxury and hype fashion products among Indian consumers.

Rising Costs Reflect Aggressive Expansion Strategy

Alongside rising revenue, Culture Circle also saw a sharp increase in expenses as it expanded its operations. Total expenditure climbed to over ₹7 crore in FY25, compared to less than ₹50 lakh in the previous year. As a result, the company reported a net loss of about ₹3.3 crore, which is common for early-stage startups investing heavily in growth.

Employee-related costs rose substantially as the company scaled its team to support sourcing, verification, technology, and customer experience. Marketing and brand-building expenses also increased as Culture Circle focused on strengthening awareness and driving user acquisition across digital platforms.

Inventory-Free Marketplace Backed by Authenticity Focus

Founded by Devansh Jain Nawal and Ackshay Jain, Culture Circle operates on an inventory-free marketplace model, connecting buyers with verified sellers of luxury fashion products. The platform primarily caters to sneakerheads and streetwear enthusiasts, offering products from globally recognised brands such as Nike, Yeezy, Dior, Supreme, and Louis Vuitton.

By not holding inventory, the startup is able to scale listings faster while reducing operational constraints. At present, Culture Circle hosts thousands of sellers and millions of listings, positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing luxury resale destinations in India.

Authentication, pricing transparency, and community trust remain central to the platform’s value proposition, especially in a market often affected by counterfeit concerns.

Shark Tank India Exposure Boosted Brand Visibility

Culture Circle’s appearance on Shark Tank India played a key role in pushing the brand into the mainstream. The founders’ pitch showcased the growing appetite among Indian youth for premium global fashion and resale culture. The show helped the startup gain widespread recognition, investor interest, and consumer confidence in a short span of time.

Post the show, increased media attention and word-of-mouth traction further contributed to higher platform activity and sales volumes.

Growth First, Profitability Later

Looking ahead, Culture Circle is expected to continue focusing on scale, technology upgrades, and deeper market penetration. With India’s luxury resale and sneaker culture gaining momentum, the startup appears well-placed to benefit from shifting consumer preferences and rising disposable incomes.
