Bengaluru-based food and wellness startup The Kenko Life has secured new funding from Rainmatter, the health and wellness investment initiative by Zerodha, along with support from notable angel investors. The company, founded in 2023 by Neeraj Kumar and Vivek Chandran, aims to change how people view healthy eating by offering meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable. With this fresh investment, the startup is preparing to expand its presence, enhance its product offerings, and deepen its focus on technology-driven nutrition solutions.

A New Approach to Everyday Healthy Eating

For many people, the idea of a healthy diet often brings to mind strict meal plans, bland food, and difficult routines. The Kenko Life aims to break this perception by designing meals that taste good while still being balanced and nourishing. The company currently serves a growing base of customers in Bengaluru through monthly meal subscriptions and its network of health-focused cafés. Each meal is prepared with careful attention to portion sizes, ingredients, and macronutrient balance, allowing customers to eat well without needing to closely track calories or nutritional values themselves.

The founders believe that healthy food should be simple, delightful, and rooted in everyday Indian eating habits rather than forced recipes or extreme diets. This philosophy has helped the startup build strong loyalty among working professionals, fitness enthusiasts, and families looking for reliable meal solutions.

Investor Confidence and Strategic Expansion

The support from Rainmatter highlights the growing interest in wellness-focused consumer products in India. According to Zerodha’s co-founder Nithin Kamath, healthy food in the country has often been either unaffordable, tasteless, or difficult to maintain as a habit. The Kenko Life, however, is working to change this by offering food that fits daily routines without compromising on taste or nutrition. The new funding will enable the startup to strengthen its operations and improve scalability.

The company plans to expand to Hyderabad and gradually enter other major cities. It also intends to increase its café presence in Bengaluru over the next two years, making healthy eating accessible to walk-in customers as well. In addition, a dedicated mobile application is being developed to allow users to personalize their meal plans and track their nutrition more easily.

Focus on Product Innovation and Customer Experience

Beyond expansion, The Kenko Life is also investing in new product development. The startup is working on healthier dessert options made without refined sugar and high-protein versions of popular Indian dishes. It is also improving its kitchen and delivery infrastructure to ensure faster service and better quality control. Sustainability is another priority, with efforts underway to introduce eco-friendly packaging solutions that reduce environmental waste.

Making Good Food a Lifestyle, Not a Restriction

The broader aim of The Kenko Life is to make healthy eating feel natural and enjoyable, not like a forced routine. The team believes that when nutritious meals taste good and are easy to access, people are more likely to build lasting habits that support long-term wellness. With growing consumer awareness around health and lifestyle choices in India, the company is positioned to play an influential role in how the next generation thinks about food.
