Cumin Co, a health-focused kitchenware brand, has made headlines after raising Rs 13 crore (USD 1.5 million) in its latest funding round led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from Huddle Ventures. This investment is set to revamp the way Indian homes cook healthy meals using toxin-free kitchenware, promising innovation and quality tailored for Indian kitchens.
Cumin Co Bags Big Funding
Founded by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi in 2025, Cumin Co started with a simple mission: to keep families safe from harmful chemicals often found in everyday cookware. Their products use a proprietary four-layer enamel coating technology, ensuring food safety and durability. With three product patents already secured, the brand is now rapidly expanding across India, serving over 7,000 households so far.
Why Healthy Kitchenware Matters
The founders realized the danger of aluminum and teflon coatings after tiny flakes were found in their children’s meals. Instead of choosing traditional non-stick cookware, they developed toxin-free products that avoid chemicals like PTFE, PFOA, and PFAS. This move is gaining strong support among health-conscious families looking for trustworthy kitchen solutions.
Investment Drives Growth
The new funds will primarily fuel research and development, manufacturing scale, and product innovation. Cumin Co aims to reach more than one lakh homes over the next year, introducing over 80 new products by year-end. The brand already enjoys a strong monthly recurring revenue of Rs 1 crore, maintaining 20% growth month-on-month and high repeat purchase rates. Prices range from Rs 1,999 to Rs 7,000, catering to Indian households with annual income above Rs 30 lakh.
Focus on Supply Chain and Quick Commerce
Cumin Co currently sells its products via its own website and Amazon, but is eyeing expansion on quick commerce platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart. This will make toxin-free cookware more accessible to families across metropolitan areas and eventually tier-two cities. The firm is also working to strengthen its supply chain for faster delivery and improved customer experience.
Bringing Indian Kitchens into the Future
Backed by Fireside Ventures, Joshi and Lekhi bring more than two decades of combined leadership experience, having previously served at companies like Noise and Mastercard. Their vision is clear: modernize Indian kitchens with smarter, safer, and culturally relevant products. Fireside Ventures believes Cumin Co. will set new standards for kitchenware innovation, trust, and customer engagement in India.
Competition and Market Trends
Cumin Co joins other health-first brands like Indus Valley and Palette Brand’s Ember, which have also secured funding recently. With demand for toxin-free and sustainable cookware rising, Cumin Co. is poised to become a household name.
